Donating Furniture in Vancouver

Donating Furniture in Vancouver WA [2024] | Vancouver WA Furniture Pick Up and 🛏️ Where To Donate Furniture in Vancouver WA

Last Updated on: 29th February 2024, 12:24 pm

You may donate used furniture in Vancouver for several reasons. You may be planning to relocate and want to give your unwanted items a new home. You may be planning a remodel and want to clear out some old furniture to make room for all brand-new pieces. You might be getting ready to downsize, or you may have inherited a home from a relative and need to reduce some of the clutter.

These are all valid reasons for donating furniture in Vancouver, WA. However, if this is your first time doing it, you may need some guidance on where to donate furniture in Vancouver. Whether you’re interested in donating furniture to charity or looking for a local thrift store, plenty of reputable organizations accept gently used goods. Furniture donations not only solve your problem, but they also allow someone in need to get value out of your unused belongings. Plus, many charities offer furniture donations with free pickup for added convenience.

Keep in mind that furniture donations are a tax write-off. So make sure you get a receipt when you drop off any items to help with your tax preparation. You’ll want to ensure you charge fair market value on your tax write-offs. That’s the amount a person would pay for the item today, assuming it’s in its current condition. If you need help with tax write-offs and determining a fair market value, Goodwill and the IRS have resources available online.

Please note that PDX Movers does not offer Vancouver WA furniture pickup for these charities. We are simply compiling a list of organizations and used furniture stores in Vancouver, WA, in case you need it. However, if you’re planning a relocation as well, we will gladly assist with that. Otherwise, here is a complete list of charities and organizations that offer furniture pickup and donation in Vancouver.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity

In addition to building homes, they also operate several other community programs, including ReStores that sell used furniture and building materials. Evergreen Habitat for Humanity operates a resale store in Vancouver, WA, that accepts donations for drop-off or pickup.

Items must be clean, sturdy, and ready to use. They accept bedroom and living room furniture, including standing or adjustable desks, bed frames with all the necessary hardware, and dining room sets with a table and matching chairs. They won’t take anything with noticeable stains, scratches, or tears, or most items made with particle board. They also won’t accept floral couches or chairs, mattresses or box springs, sleeper sofas or futons, china cabinets, entertainment centers, or pianos.

To donate your items to Evergreen Habitat for Humanity in Vancouver, WA, you can stop by their Clark County store Tuesday – Sunday from 10 am-5:30 pm. But make sure to wait for an attendant and get your receipt at the end. You can also schedule a pickup through their online portal. They offer two options: preferred pickup and priority. Habitat for Humanity takes care of select pickups and charges $20 for residences (businesses and nonprofits are free). A 3rd party hauler handles priority pickup, which will cost extra. But the crew will show up within 48 hours if you are donating furniture in Vancouver, WA.
