This Portland suburb was incorporated in 1893 and has a motto of “Home of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge.” To this day, there’s a debate about where the name of this neighborhood came from because the founder, Robert Alexander, was from Sherwood, Michigan, but he always said this gorgeous suburb reminded him of the Sherwood Forest in England.
